Nominations are opened for this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and Ghanaian musicians are expected to file their works done under the year of review in order to be awarded.
Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were banned indefinitely from the Awards scheme last year after their incident brought the event to an untimely end.

Questions have been raised if the organisers of the event will allow the two industry greats to file for nomination this year since both have been of good behavior, rendered an apology and produced great music in 2019.
Head of Public Events of the company, Robert Klah on 3fm disclosed that the inclusion of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale will be announced after the board has sat down to deliberate.

Mr. Robert Klah added that even if it does not happen in that time frame, there is a possibility for the board to nominate Stonebwoy and Shatta wale after decisions have been taken.
“Submissions are going to end on 31st but it doesn’t necessarily mean that work on nomination ends because when the board is working and they feel some particular music has done well, they can find out if submissions have been made and if submissions have not been made, sometimes, they reach out to the persons involved just to find out if they are willing to tender in. These are some of the things that happen in the background.” He said.
