Rita was also the first ever recipient of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice New Era Award in 2014. Rita was a perennial Acting nominee in several awards too numerous to name this past 9 years and has diligently continued to hone and redefine her acting skills. She still considers acting her foremost priority and strives to always give it her all. Coming in 2020, Rita will feature in Kola Munnis’ @incaseofincasity and Mildred Okwo’s @anjolamovie The youngest of four children, she was born into the Royal Waturuocha family of Aboh Mbaise in Imo State, Rita started acting in local television dramas at the age of 5. She graduated from the University of Port Harcourt with a BA in Theatre Arts and joined the Nigerian film industry in 1998.
