To some people, fame and money rule the world, to others knowledge rules and it’s the ultimate power!
Whilst some people are okay to be called Nollywood actors with fame and heap of money sitting in their accounts with no formal education, others think it’s necessary to broaden their horizons to enjoy the various academic discourse.
For that reason, the following Nollywood actors went back to the classroom to earn degrees after gaining fame.
Kanayo O Kanayo
Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O Kanayo born Anayo Modestus Onyekwere has recently added to his title after graduating as a lawyer.
The actor announced a few years back that he had begun lectures as a law student. As happy as fans were, they were as well stunned as to why the award-winning actor would take such a ‘burden’ at school at his age.
True to his word, he has gone through it all and come up successfully this 2019 as a lawyer.
‘Hello People, For the love of you, I owe you the notice that I have resumed classes in school, the University of Abuja. Just finished with morning lecture, Law of Evidence, and on standby for Equity 2-4 pm. #overandout‘ he said in 2017.
Odunlade Adekola
Odunlade Adekola is one of the common faces in Nollywood. He shot to fame after he played a leading role in Ishola Durojaye’s 2003 movie ‘Asiri Gomina Wa’.
Despite his fame and money, the actor went back to school in 2018 at the Legos University to read Bachelor of Business And Administration.
He wrote;
“I am a firm believer in knowledge acquisition so I always tell young actors, who want to enter our industry to get an education first.
‘In fact, if you tell me you are interested in acting, I will ask you what you are doing presently. If you say you are currently in school, I will advise you to finish before you join the movie industry. Even if you are learning a trade, make sure you are certified before you join the movie industry. If you are seeking to gain admission into the university, ensure you complete your studies first before you come into the movie industry. If you fail to do so, once you become a famous actor, it will be difficult for you to go back to school. Education is very important in’ anything you do in life.”

That’s why, when I see people claiming to have talent, I tell them talent is not enough because you are going to meet people who are talented and educated. They have double of what you have.‘
Baba Ijesha
Veteran Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha returned to school to study Theatre Arts at the Legos University after touching fame.
Giving the reason why he went back to school,
