A U.S photographer is helping raise money for an NGO in Ghana by selling photographs taken during trips to Ghana.
Michael Sloyer was a former executive at Goldman Sachs who came to Ghana in 2014 to do some volunteer work.
He says he ‘fell in love’ with Ghana and started capturing moments with his camera.
“When we’re walking through villages or through markets or wherever we’re traveling, it always facilitates connection to the people that we meet because, you know, the people say hi to the camera or somebody might, you know, kind of shy away from it, and when you have that interaction, there’s always, like, some sort of connection.” Sloyer said.
Michael is now partnering with his father Alan, to hold an exhibit of their photos in New York to raise money.
They aim to raise $1m through their exhibits, which would be used to support the charity ‘Ghana Make A Difference’, which helps in providing communities with shelter, education and jobs.
“The title of this exhibition is ‘Life Living Life.’ if we can kind of glorify everybody, if we can, you know, bring everybody up, then we have achieved our goal,” Michael Sloyer said.
