A Nigerian judge has ordered an aeroplane belonging to Emirates Airlines to be seized to pay off a judgement debt the company owes.
A court case involving Promise Mekwunye and the airline was adjudicated in favour of the plaintiff, who was awarded damages amounting to N8.1 million ($22,103).
Emirates Airlines has failed to pay the debt, leading to a new suit seeking a judgement to enforce the debt.
Justice Mohammed Liman thus rules that an airplane belonging to the airline be seized until the debt has been paid.
