KSM’s Son Blackway Nominated For 2020 Grammy Awards

The list of the 62nd Grammy Awards nominees has been announced and Ghanaians were anticipating to hear the names of new comers like Shatta Wale and M.anifest who were featured on The Lion King: The Gift Album and African Giant Album respectively.

One person who seem to have raised the flag of Ghana higher is Yaw Sintim-Misa also known as rapper Blackway, son of popular Ghanaian Comedian and Satirist Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM).

Blackway teamed up with Black Caviar for the second single from the official soundtrack album Spider-Man™ Into the Spider-Verse. The record-smashing album has also been nominated at the 2020 Grammys.

Blackway and DJ duo, Black Caviar created ‘What’s Up Danger,’ a soundtrack for the movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and are up against tough competition with The Lion King: The Songs, Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Rocketman — Taron Egerton and A Star Is Born — Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper. All these songs are in a good stands to win the award for the Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media at the Grammy awards.

Blackway and Black Caviar also received a RIAA gold certification for song, “What’s Up Danger” in September. RIAA is the Recording Industry Association of America which hands out awards certification based on the number of albums and singles sold.
