Stones Will Rise and Build National Cathedral If Ghanaians Do Not Build It—Says Ken Ofori-Atta

Ghana’s Finance Minister-Ken Ofori-Atta has ridiculously stated that if Ghanaians do not build the National Cathedral the NPP government is about to construct, stones will rise and build it for God.

If the above is true, then they should save us the pain and use the money to fix our roads and hospitals—and allow the stones all over Ghana to rise and build the said Cathedral.

It’s such cheap rhetoric from intelligent men like Ken Ofori-Atta which makes us wonder how stupid they really think Ghanaians become when God is mentioned.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s ‘Eko si sen’ political talk show on Friday, Ken Ofori-Atta stated that he finds it difficult to appreciate the criticism against the project over a ‘tiny land’ the government has given to build the cathedral.

He said: “From 1957 to where God has brought us and the blessings He has given us and now a small land we are giving to God should rather be given to real estate agents? I get afraid. Because we are a Christian country, even if we don’t do it, the stones themselves will get up and do it.”

According to Ken Ofori-Atta, the National Cathedral will cost $100 million—and the government will be financing 20 percent of the proposed cost.
