In 2017, Davido was allegedly accused of giving a dud cheque to a car dealer whom he purchased a Mercedes-Benz GLE 450. The cheque was to settle a sum of N7.4million. Davido issued the cheques On February 10, of Zenith Bank (account number 100424****) of N10million and N1.4million respectively. The car dealer whose name was given as Mr. Anekwu Chika Valentine of Prestige Autonet Limited says the bank did not honor the cheques. Reports from Sahara Reports revealed that the car dealer contacted a Law Firm to help him get his money back with the court taking 10 percent if they recover it.
