Outrage In Nigeria After Court Dismisses Rape Case Against A Pastor and Orders the Victim to Pay Him N1m In Damages

A court case in Nigeria which was ruled on today has sparked outrage after it rendered a decision many Nigerians are unhappy with.

The case involved the wife of Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo, Busola, who claimed Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo had raped her many years prior when she was a teenager and a member of his church.

The preacher, founder and leader of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), denied the allegations and those of other women who also came out to claim they had suffered a similar experience.

Dakolo then sued the pastor in Federal Court in Abuja.

The judge hearing the case ruled today and said the suit was frivolous and a waste of time.

Not only did he throw out the suit, he also ordered the alleged rape victim to pay 1m naira in damages to the pastor, which has outraged many Nigerians online.

It looks like the rich and powerful are ganging up and protecting each other and unsurprisingly, many Nigerians are pissed and roasting their messed up criminal justice system.
