If you think of boxers who always gets themselves into trouble, Bukom Banku would be top of your list.
The Ghanaian cruiserweight born Braimah Kamoko has a big mouth, always bragging about one thing or another and he’s always getting into arguments with others, boxers or not.
In fact, he’s been accused of assaulting non-boxers on more than one occasion, including even women.
But that’s not why his boxing licence has been revoked by the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA).
The Authority has revoked Banku’s licence due to breach of contract.
Banku, the African Boxing Union Light Heavyweight Champion, was supposed to have a rematch with Bastie Samir, who handed him his first-ever defeat two years ago, but Banku refused.
His decision to ‘run away’ from Bastie led to a disciplinary hearing by the GBA which ended with his licence being stripped off him.
He has also been ordered to pay Ghc 17,000 to the promoter of the rematch with Samir, which was originally scheduled to have come off last year.
