Nollywood screen goddess Genevieve Nnaji has never been as angry as she is now after her movie ‘Lionheart’ was disqualified from contention for the best international feature category at the 2020 Oscars.
According to the Academy, the movie has too much English dialogue which flouts the rules that movies in the international feature film category must have “a predominantly non-English dialogue track.”
Genevieve’s movie is still eligible for movies in other categories but not for the best international feature film.
Responding to the disqualification, Nnaji is unhappy with her movie being disqualified despite Nigeria being an English speaking country.
