Ghanaian actor and event organizer, Abena Ghana has revealed that the entertainment industry is not moving forward because of envy.
According to her in an interview with Zion Felix, Ghanaians have the attitude of sitting back to watch one person do something even if they can help in anyway but they won’t, a popular adage which says *Yɛ ma yɛn nhwɛ* an attitude killing us especially the entertainment industry.
“Ghanaians especially the entertainment industry players are fond of sitting back and relaxing to see if you can really do what you have set up to do. The attitude of *yɛ ma yɛn nhwɛ*. They later accept you and try to help after they realize you have been able to do it.
“Others also feel its not their work so why should the get involved that kind of envy is among us and they will add that after all they won’t get any credit if they help so they won’t,” she said while addressing issue of the entertainment industry players not showing up in their numbers at the Ghana Actors and Entertainers Awards maiden edition.
