Listening to Shatta Wale or his ex Shatta Michy talk about their relationship is like hearing Ghanians moan about the current state of affairs in the country, both are annoying and pointless.
Less than a year ago, these two were the toast of the country when Shatta Wale went down on one knee and finally made an honest woman out of Shatta Mitchy by proposing to her during the launch of his Reign album. Although the proposal should have been the biggest talking point of the night, one Sergeant Lee aka Stonebwoy did steal the headlines by trying to mount the stage on the night.
Many including myself were happy for Shatta Michy considering the loyalty she has shown Shatta Wale plus bearing his bastard child, but that joy was short-lived as the fragile relationship collapsed before married life had even begun.
First there were rumours of someone else other than Shatta fathering their son and the infidelity of Shatta Wale himself. According to Shatta Michy herself, Shatta Wale is a woman beater and she has suffered physical abuse from him although why she will say this on the radio rather than speaking to the police is beyond me.
Shatta Wale in a recent interview claimed he had not seen his son for about 10 months and even though he desperately wants to be part of his son’s life he does not want to confront the ex-fiancée. Now whoever believes this statement from Shatta Wale is either a die-hard fan of his or isn’t functioning at full capacity. I find it hard to believe that the same man that can threaten the entire country over some nonsense would sit back and let Shatta Michy prevent him from seeing his son.
The latest nonsense from the camp of the Shattas is Shatta Michy moaning about how she was proposed to. According to her, she was not aware that the proposal was scheduled on the night of the album launch. That is the most stupid thing I have ever heard. The idea of a marriage proposal at least as practised nowadays in Ghana is all about the element of surprise. Who gives a heads up before proposing to a woman?
I can go on and on about all the nonsense and child’s play exhibited by these two but that will require several hours of typing and that isn’t something I am ready to do.
