Meanwhile In Akufo-Addo’s Ghana – DSTV Increases Charges Due to CST and Ursula Promises MoMo To Be Taxed Soon

In case you thought things were not expensive enough in Ghana, we’re about to be hit by more price increases due to the Communication Service Tax (CST).

Satellite tv service DSTV has announced that effective November 1st, the cost of their subscriptions would increase by Ghc5 across board due to the CST.

Much like all the telcos, the cost of the tax is being passed onto the consumer.

This follows increases in fuel prices, transport fares, electricity tariffs, water bills and almost anything else you can think of, under the government who allegedly came to save us from the higher taxes of the NDC.

In related news, Communications Minister Ursula Owusu has announced that government would soon tax Mobile Money transactions.
