A PLUS Adds A Chapter To the Celebrities book of Lamentations Over the Latest Tax Increase

To add to the rants by Celebrities on the recent increased in Communication Service Tax, Electricity and Water Tariffs, The Musician A PLUS, took to his Facebook page to lament and asked if the President is a liar.

Most Ghanaians are devastated about the tariff increment and couldn’t hide their displeasure.

Some Ghanaians celebrities also expressed their views on the tariffs using their various social media handles.

The first Celebrity to lament was Actor and aspiring MP, John Dumelo.

He posted on Twitter “ Prices have increased across board. Phone Credit, Water, Electricity, even Fan Milk. Ghana we dey”

TV Presenter, Nana Aba Anamoah, also posted on Twitter an old post by the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Twitter on the 2nd of December, 2015 which reads “ NDC has resorted to increasing taxes under the economic difficulties they created. An NPP Government will do differently”. She added the captain, “Good morning and Tagged the President Nana Addo and his Vice Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

TV3’s Berla Mundi, too asked “ Has your Salary been increased after the recent hikes in Electricity, Water and Communication Service Tax?.

All these posts were made subsequent to the recent hikes in tariffs.

A PLUS too felt the heat and using it as an opportunity to score some points for his “Party” The People’s Project joined the lamentations.

The Musician, posted an Excerpt of  a videotape that featured the President delivering a speech on a Campaign platform with the caption “ So is it that my own Nana Addo , the man trusted so much is also a just an ordinary lying Ghanaian politician who made fake promises to win power or he didn’t understand the actual situation on the ground when he was campaigning?”.

With the already harsh economic conditions prevailing in the country, we only hope it doesn’t get out of hand with the new tariffs.
