Man Dies After Underwater Proposal To His Girlfriend Went Horribly Wrong

The quest for the ‘perfect’ proposal can go horribly wrong at times – just ask American man Steven Weber.

Weber tried proposing to his girlfriend underwater during a trip to Tanzania but ended up losing is life.

According to the BBC, the American couple – Steven Weber and Kenesha Antoine – were in Tanzania on holiday when the guy decided to try the ‘romantic’ proposal.

They were staying in a submerged cabin at the Manta Resort, off Pemba Island.

Steve Weber dived into the water to propose, holding a handwritten proposal note to his girlfriend inside the cabin as she filmed everything.

Unfortunately, he drowned in the water whilst his lover was inside still filming.

The resort confirmed the death in a statement which read: “It is with the deepest regret that we inform that a fatal accident occurred at The Manta Resort on Thursday 19 September, 2019,”

“[Mr Weber] tragically drowned while free diving alone outside the underwater room.” the statement added.
