A British couple have set an example that many Ghanaians would do well to follow as they got married wearing just jeans and t-shirts and spent only £250 on their wedding.
Rebecca and Glen Maxwell decided that spending thousands of pounds on their wedding was absurd, and did all they could to cut costs, ending up with the most simple of weddings.
In the end, the entire ceremony cost £250, a stark difference from the £14,000 in their initial budget.

According to Metro UK, the couple, who were fighting over money and getting unnecessarily stressed planning their wedding, decided that they would rather have a simple ceremony and be happy than spend all that money and be unhappy.
So they decided to get married in personalised ‘groom’ and ‘bride’ t-shirts worn over simple jeans and trainers, and required all their 40 guests to arrive similarly dressed.
They also scrapped their plan to get married on a farm at Christmas, instead simply saying their vows at their town hall, at the simple cost of £250.
