Legendary Ghanaian musician Gyedu Blay Ambolley, who always has strong opinions to pass, has thrown some ‘advice’ at Stonebwoy like Sarkodie once did to Shatta Wale.
Ambolley has always slammed Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale for being fake dancehall artists, and he’s now advising Stonebwoy to stop the genre altogether.
According to Ambolley, he should sing ‘Borborbor’ rather – a genre of music hailing from Stonebwoy’s home region, the Volta Region.
Ambolley argues that Stonebwoy should use his fame and reach to promote Ghanaian heritage and culture rather than dancehall, which is from Jamaica.
He passed the comments during a sitdown with Ghanaian journalist Attractive Mustapha.
Ambolley has in the past mocked Shatta Wale for calling himself a ‘dancehall king’, arguing you cannot be king of a genre you stole from someone else.
