Guinea Names CK Akonnor As New Head Coach

Former Black Stars captain Charles Kwablah Akonnor, popularly known as CK Akonnor, has been appointed as the head coach of Guinea national football team.

The former Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak coach replaces Paul Put who was sacked after a poor AFCON campaign in Egypt.

Reports say Akonnor has signed a three-year contract with Guinea and is expected to qualify the team for the AFCON 2021 tournament scheduled to be held in Cameroon.

Apart from Kotoko and Hearts, CK has also coached local sides like Dreams FC, Ashanti Gold SC and Sekondi Eleven Wise.
