One Ghanaian Shot In Fresh Wave of Xenophobic Attacks In Johannesburg – VIDEO

It seems another wave of xenophobic attacks has swept over South Africa, drawing Ghanaians into the mix this time.

Ghanaians in South Africa have revealed that one of their brothers has been shot in the latest xenophobic attack in South Africa.

The victim was shot in the leg after being caught in the mix of a wave of violence between some locals and foreigners in the Johannesburg suburb of West Hills.

Chairman of the Ghanaians Association in Kempton Park Johannesburg, Wofa Atta, revealed news of the attack on Okay Fm.

According to him, the incident occurred Wednesday morning and that the victim was shot in the leg.

“…I can confirm that he is in a stable condition and is also receiving treatment,” he said.

Wofa Atta warned Ghanaians in other parts of the country to contact their local Ghanaian association or the High Commission if they find themselves near any wave of violence.

The latest xenophobic attacks in South Africa started last weekend, with some Nigerians facing the brunt of the attacks. At least five people are believed to have died and many shops owned by Nigerians were looted and then torched by angry locals.
