‘I Am Nigerian And I Am Every Foreign National That Was Attacked, Killed Or Abused…’- Toke Makinwa On South Africa’s Xenophobic Situation

Socialite and media personality Toke Makinwa has added her 5 cents to the xenophobic attacks on foreigners in South Africa. Toke says any of the victims could have been her and she is so right about it.

Sharing a picture with the hashtag NoToXenophobia, Toke wrote; “I am Nigerian, I am every foreign national that was attacked, killed, abused and burnt in the streets, I am not your enemy, the real enemy walks away laughing, the real enemy watches you kill your own and still remain oppressed, the real enemy is not the color of my skin or yours cos it’s the same, the real enemy is your mind. “

“Ignorance, poverty and mental slavery. We are all angry, we too have been oppressed so long, but killing ourselves is only taking us back. For every problem you think you have South Africa, look around you, the other African countries can complain too. Nobody wins if we destroy ourselves.”
