Police in the Ashanti Region have announced that a couple of suspects have been arrested in connection with the death of a prominent chief.
Nana Kwadwo Fordour, Asamponhene of the Ashanti Kingdom, was stabbed by unknown assailants whilst travelling.
Investigations have commenced into his death and police have intimated they believe his death was an assassination.
A police source told Kasapafmonline: “So far we suspect contract killing but as at now we don’t know the motive but preliminary investigations suspect contract killing. At the right time, there will be an update. We’ve picked one or two persons but for security reasons, we wouldn’t want to mention their names.”
The death of Nana Fodour was shocking to Ghanaians after it was revealed, with the manner of his death raising all sorts of questions.

It is alleged a chieftaincy dispute might have sparked the attack on him which killed him.
