Businessman Charles Opoku Darko Denies Any Involvement In Nana Appiah Mensah’s Case With Dubai Company Horizon Royal Diamonds

A Ghanaian businessman, Charles Opoku Darko, who runs the company CODCO Limited, has denied any involvement in the Dubai case involving Nana Appiah Mensah and the company who caused his legal troubles in the Gulf state, Horizon Royal Diamond.

Darko had been fingered as one of a list of people allegedly behind NAM 1’s troubles in Ghana.

However, he has denied any involvement with Nana Appiah Mensah in a chat with celebrity blogger Ameyaw Debrah.

Nana Appiah Mensah, according to an ‘expose’ by a Ghanaian journalist on social media, was set up by a group of people. Darko’s name appeared in the exposé but he has denied all allegations.

He was fingered as part of the gold deal Nana Appiah Mensah struck with the Dubai based Horizon Royal Diamond, who owed NAM 1 a significant amount of money from a gold deal but then reported him to authorities in Dubai when he went to the country to retrieve his money.

That kicked off all his legal troubles in Dubai, but the Menzgold Ghana CEO won the case against Horizon and was awarded damages. He also won the case on appeal.

Speaking out on the issue, Darko said he had no involvement in the NAM 1 case.

‘I don’t know why I am being added up to this whole scandal. I have not collected money from Ghanaians. I have not done any business with NAM1 and Ade.  I didn’t follow either of them to go and sign any business transaction in Dubai. I don’t know anything about this.” the CEO of CODCO Ghana said.

According to him, he had a real estate deal with a Nigerian businessman with ties to NAM 1, Adentunji Adewoye Olorunfemi, which led to him being invited by EOCO because the latter’s accounts had been frozen by the government agency. That is the extent of his dealings with Adentunji and by extension, NAM 1.
