A lot of of the time some celebrities feel a little too big for their own good – feeling the world owes them something just because they are lucky enough to do somehting which puts them in the public sphere.
Asiedu Nketia once said any fool can go to court and fact is, any fool can become a celebrity. The skillset needed to be famous has nothing to do with intellect and all to do with natural talent and social skills.
So being famous gives a lot of our celebrities a chip on their shoulders that’s completely unwarranted, forgetting that one day they’ll be nobodies much like the rest of us.
Those who are remembered beyond their time are very few, the most exceptional or vile among us. In 100 years Yvonne Nelson would be no different to Koo Ntakra from down the street.
Stonebwoy has somehow picked up on this, expressing worry about the kind of legacy someone like him could leave behind.
According to him, he fears in 50 years time no one would remember him or what he’s done.
He wrote: “Many a time when I read about people who have traveled and broken records is many spheres of of Life as Ghanaians especially in sports and entertainment And aren’t been spoken about today, I begin to feel for Myself and My colleagues. In the nxt 50yrs Dem go Kai we be that?”.
A legacy depends on the artist in question and how they conduct themself in life – no one can build your legacy for you.
