Much Derided Final Season of Game of Thrones Sets Record With 32 Emmy Nominations – See Full List

The much criticized final season of Game of Thrones has landed an impressive 32 Emmy nominations, setting a new record for the most nominations received by a drama series.

The show received a nomination for best drama, whilst its top stars Kit Harrington (Jon Snow), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and others received individual nominations.

This would be good news to the showrunners, who had to endure unending criticism over the show’s final season.

The nominees for this year’s Emmy awards were released ahead of the show itself which comes off on Sunday September 22nd.
