I Only Took Some Family and Friends to KMA to Sign My Marriage Certificate, My Wedding Didn’t Even Cost Ghc 200 – Okyeame Kwame

Veteran Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame has revealed the kind of wedding he had with his wife, Annica, all those years ago.

In this day and age of expensive white weddings, it’s a sacriliege to even think of a wedding without a big church ceremony or a fancy reception, but that’s exactly what Okyeame Kwame reveals he did.

The ‘rap dacta’ in a chat with Joy Fm’s Cosmopolitan Mix revealed that his wedding to Annica cost just about Ghc 300 in total.

Recounting what happened, he revealed he only took a few family members and close friends to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), where they signed the marriage certificate.

According to him, he used half of the Ghc 300 to pay for the registration whilst the other half was used to prepare fufu to eat.

He said the reason they didn’t have a big public wedding is that his wife is very shy, but whatever the reason you can’t deny the financial sense behind such a wedding.

It’s impossible to imaging anything like that happening these days.
