A 0-0 draw in the other Group game between Cameroon and Benin put Ghana top of the group to avoid an early Round of 16 clash with Nigeria.

A listless first half sparked fears of another horrible Stars performance after two draws in their first group games, but they started the second half in blistering form with Jordan scoring a great solo goal.
The Crystal Palace forward latched onto a defence splitting pass from Wakaso, beating his man to curl a great effort into the top corner.
The goal gave Ghana great confidence and loosened their play, leading to a second goal midway through the half.

Baba Rahman controlled a Dede Ayew through ball and laid it on a platter for Partey, who slotted home with a sliding effort.
Ghana thus earned the comfortable win, luckily finishing top as well due to Cameroon’s draw.
All’s well that ends well for the Stars, but they definitely need to raise their level of performance if they want to progress past the Round of 16.
