Actress Efia Odo got depressed and run from social media many weeks ago during the period Junior U.S died and allegations started flying around that she had been involved in a 3some with the deceased Junior and Shatta Wale.
However, she came back to social media and is now warning that if Ghanaians don’t stop trolling celebrities like herself, one of them might commit suicide one day.
According to Efia Odo, they (celebrities) are the victims of cyberbullying which can lead to depression and even suicide.
“You people in this country ehn, unless a celeb commits suicide then you go shun the cyber bullying and even then you’ll find your next target since it’s known how easily you people forget. When they die is when you start saying good things. Will it kill you to be KIND??” Ms Odo wrote.
Celebrities are shouting out against trolling in greater numbers these days, with Bridget Otoo even trying to organize some of them to block trolls en masse.
There’s a far easier solution, which is to stop reading comments of people who don’t matter to them anyway; my theory is that they can’t stop doing that because they live on the approval of those who praise them in those same comment sections.
Or maybe, if they feel they have to interact with fans, just hire someone to screen comments for them; after all, they are doing so well in their lives, unlike frustrated Ghanaians.
