Controversial Ghanaian politician Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has exposed numerous Ghanaian pastors who travel to Amsterdam’s famous ‘Red Light district’ to chop ashawos and return home to continue preaching to their flock.
The ‘Red Light’ district, for those who do not know, is a section of Amsterdam which primarily houses a string of brothels where men can go to enjoy practitioners of the world’s oldest profession in a safe and legal manner.

It generates huge revenue in taxes for the Dutch government and Kennedy Agyapong has called for Ghana to have a similar red light district to boost tourism.
According to the Assin Central MP, that would be a way for the government to make money.
He also said that he knows many Ghanaian pastors would boot against the idea but most of them actually visit the district whenever they travel outside.

“Corporate tax cannot do anything, tourism is the way to go, what do they have in Amsterdam?, Red Light District, when it comes to Ghana, you will have Pastors, Reverends, praying and cursing you, saying this is Sodom and Gomorrah, we are cursed,” Agyapong said.
“But when they come here (to Amsterdam), they want to go to Red Light and experience it. I’m drawing your attention to the tourism in Amsterdam.” the MP added.
Ghana has a long way to go to even think of implementing something like that, considering any call to legalize prostitution would be met with so much opposition before we even get to creating an entire area centred around prostitution.
It is absolutely the right thing to do though.
