For over four decades, Amakye Dede has been a mainstay in the Ghanaian music industry, starting his career as part of the Kumapim Royals Band as a composer and vocalist. He later broke away to start his solo career and has since gone on to build a career as one of Ghana’s most successful singers of all time.

A real pioneer of the highlife genre, Amakye has released some of the most memorable and classic tunes of all time, including ‘Brebrebe yi’,  ‘Sokoo na mmaa pe’, ‘To be a man na war’, and ‘Iron Boy.’

Despite his longevity, his ability to remain relevant throughout the decades is unmatched and the unique place he holds in the industry is illustrated by possessing two unique monikers – Iron Boy and Abrantie – when most musicians gain only one their entire careers.
