Public Relations Officer for Charterhouse, George Quaye, has revealed that the two sanctioned artists, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, are yet to return their plaques despite being asked to do so.
George Quaye, speaking with Peace Fm Thursday, said they have no authority to chase the two around to bring the awards but can only rely on courtesy for them to do the right thing.
The two dancehall stars were banned indefinitely by the VGMA Board from future shows and asked to return the awards they won at this year’s ceremony, but neither of them is yet to do so.
“I am not sure the Board is in the position to chase them to bring the plaques. But as courtesy demands, it is required of them to return it. We pray they do the needful,” Quaye said.
“I have not had any directive from the VGMA Board (Chairman) to go after them to bring the plaques. But it is on record that they have been stripped of the awards they won on the night,” he added.
The two artists have since gone on to make peace, so it remains to be seen if they would now decide to return the plaques to Charterhouse or they would follow Edem’s advice and still keep them to appease their fans.
