And she started laughing.

Our conversation was in relation to the matter at hand. I mean the peace that has been brought between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

I am a sceptic but realistic in the face of my scepticism. I told Nana Aba Anamoah that we’ve seen peace pipes smoked between Shatta Wale and Samini—and even between same Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy. Yet these parties have been everything but peaceful.

Nana Aba Anamoah confidently told me that this time it will last—forever. And this is because, it’s not people like her who have compelled Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy to make peace. She said the two musicians themselves have self-reflected and are convinced that they need this, more than all of us.

The CHRIS-VINCENT in me asked: when Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy smoke their weed, don’t you think they will tear down any peace accord that has been erected? In fact, I wouldn’t be shocked if Shatta Wale records a song to diss you—Nana Aba…I said.

But Ms Aba was resolute—stating that, this time the peace between the two will last and everyone is needed to foster and strengthen the peace.

The Shatta Wale-Stonebwoy peaceful coexistence can be equated to trying to find an enduring solution to the Nigerian power crisis. It will be bad for some people’s business if the two become good friends or respectful towards each. Therefore, a lot of people including the cheap uneducated bloggers would fan the dying flame to ignite the fire of furore.

However, we should all look at the big picture and remember that it is not just about these two persons but also about a bunch of dedicated and somewhat credulous fans of theirs we do not want to see at each other’s neck outside the virtual landscape.

So, I have been converted, slightly, that Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy will live in peace. I hope it lasts.
