‘Wild’ Asamoah Gyan Sent Debt Collectors to Seize Properties of His Club Until they Pay Him His Wages

Asamoah Gyan might have been stripped of his captaincy of the Black Stars but he’s still displaying some ‘wild’ tendencies after he sent some ‘debt collectors’ to rough up the offices of his current club for failing to pay him his wages.

Gyan, who’s currently in the country ahead of the Black Stars starting their camping for the 2019 Afcon, decided he was tired of waiting for some outstanding wages owed him by Turkish club Kayserispor and decided to take some action.

According to reports, he sent some people to the team’s offices to seize some items in lieu of his cash.

The items seized included furnitre, computers and even some carpets.

The club, in order to combat the bad press the incident might bring, contacted Gyan through their lawyers and begged him to stop the debt collectors with a promise he’ll be paid at a later date.

Gyan acqueised and the operation was put on hold.

The former stars captain has played for Kayserispor for two years and his contract expires next month. He is not expected to extend and therefore this period is his last chance to retrieve his money.

According to Ghanasoccernet, Turkish clubs are notorious for unpaid wages and Gyan would be hoping this ‘shaking’ he gave them would work in his favour.
