It was a day full of rich culture display from various African countries as students of the North Hills International School in Accra (North Legon) held a colourful ceremony in honour of the Africa Union (AU) Day on Friday, May 25.

The school, which can boast of pupils from different countries, celebrated the diversity of cultures and the formation of the Organisation of African Unity.

Nana Kwame Osei Boakye, Head boy of the school, in his AU speech emphasized on the history of the AU and its significance to the continent.

Celebrating this important day, both tutors and pupils of North Hills International School wore colourful traditional attires from the countries they represented to depict the diverse cultures of the various tribes in Africa.

The four houses of the school each represented the four regions of Africa; West, East, North, and South Africa, with each depicting things typical to the chosen region.

The occasion was spiced up with eye-catching choreography by the pupils. Other activities on the day included poetry recitals, musical chairs, among others.
