There is one reason and one reason only that ‘dancehall king’ Shatta Wale has become such a big star today that he feels he can do whatever he likes, and that is Kwaw Kese.
Veteran entertainment critic Mark Okraku Mantey says that if the ‘MadTime’ Entertainment boss had not been jailed, Shatta Wale would not have become the behemoth that he is today.
Mantey has been speaking on the Shatta issue today and he insists that it was due to ‘Abodam’ being jailed that Shatta got a vacuum to fill which made him a household name.

“Shatta became Shatta when Kwaw Kese went to prison. Because there was [a] vacuum and someone had to fill it. When Kwaw came back [from prison], he has never been the same,” he said on Daybreak Hitz.
“…Kwaw used to have followers and nowadays I don’t even see them. When you’re on top, it looks like everyone likes you,” he added.
Abodam was jailed in 2015 for marijuana possession, which remains one of the stupidest reasons to jail anyone up to this day. Since then his career has never really recovered.
