Someone is begging for trouble-causers Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale to be given a more considerate sentence by Charterhouse — veteran broadcaster Abeiku Santana.
Whilst fans of the two stars are defiant and say they don’t need the VGMAs, Abeiku is calling for the two to be reinstated.
As we reported earlier today, Charterhouse has banned the two dancehall giants indefinitely from their annual VGMA awards show for their part in the fracas which occurred on the night of the 20th Anniversary awards.
Speaking about the issue on Happy Fm, Abeiku said the punishment is a little too harsh for the crime.
He said the ban should have been for a few years and not indefinite, even as he expressed understanding for why Charterhouse had to do it.
“Charterhouse should have been considerate. Banning Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy indefinitely is too harsh. Though what they did is very wrong and must be condemned, banning them indefinitely is not the option. At least 2 or 3 years ban is okay but indefinitely is too harsh,” he said.
“But I also feel that this decision was arrived to protect Charterhouse’s image because their partners, sponsors and everyone is waiting to see the type of punishment they will give to these two artists so to protect their image they concluded on that decision,” Santana added.
Abeiku pleaded that the two artists should reach out to Charterhouse and apologize so the issue can be resolved and Ghana music can move on.
