VGMA 2019: The Late Ebony Reigns Still Reigns As ‘Artist Of The Year’ After Being Crowned In 2018

For your information, the late Dancehall diva, Ebony Reigns is currently holding the mantle as the ‘Artist of the Year’ after winning it in 2018 ─ even though the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has been organised.

This is so because Charterhouse, the organisers of the Ghana Music Awards could not announce the ‘Artiste of the Year’ for 2019 due to Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale’s bizarre incident on the night.

48 hours after the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was held but surprising there is no 2019 artiste of the year to lead the music industry ─ and this makes the late Ebony Reigns the reigning artist of the year.

According to Kwame Sefa-Kayi who was the MC at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, two of the categories ‘Artist of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’ which were not announced belong to Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

So until Charterhouse announces the ‘Artist of the Year’ for 2019, the late Ebony Reigns still reigns as the ‘Artist of the Year’ in 2019.
