Dancehall godfather Samini has rubbished any competition he faces for the artist of the decade award.
According to Samini, who has been a constant in the industry since the early 2000’s, even those he’s challenging for the honour would not be supported by their family members because they all support him due to his longevity.
Samini, who has long tipped himself for the gong, elaborated further on why he’s the best choice in a recent chat with Okay Fm.
The ‘My Own’ hitmaker said even before his opponents entered the music game, they supported him and their own families supported him.
“All the musicians in the category are aware that even before they nursed the thought to start singing, their family members were my fans who followed and loved my work,” he said.
The Artist of the Decade award, introduced by Charterhouse to mark 20 years of the awards scheme, is being competed for by Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Okyeame Kwame, Stonebwoy, Efya, R2Bees, No Tribe & Nacee, Becca, Joe Mettle and Samini.
