The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards comes off Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) and what makes this year’s edition special is the fact that it marks the 20th Anniversary of the award scheme ─ 1999 to 2019.
One of the sessions of the 2019 VGMA event is the red carpet ─ where celebrities are given the opportunity to showcase what they’ve got in their wardrobes.
Some female celebrities go the extreme to spend as much as Ghc5,000 and more for their outfits to big events such as the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Now, the 2019 VGMA comes off this Saturday and as usual, it is going to be a battle of which celebrity ‘killed’ it on the red carpet.
It’s a fact that some celebrities will slay on the 2019 VGMA red carpet with borrowed outfits or outfits bought on credit and then later pay with pain.
The movie industry has collapsed leaving the majority of the actresses and actors jobless and broke in real life but rich on social media ─ yeah, don’t be deceived by their social media activities.
With this kind of brokenness as a result of the collapse of the movie industry, do you think your favourite actress or celebrity will get from Ghc3,000 to Ghc5,000 to buy or sow an outfit for the 2019 VGMA red carpet? The majority of them are likely to attend with borrowed or outfits bought on credit just to slay on the red carpet.
Those who are broke to afford new outfits for the 2019 VGMA may watch it from home or attend with old stuff ─ that’s if they want to prevent the wahala of owing fashion designers.
Top actresses such as Lydia Forson, Yvonne Nelson, Yvonne Okoro, Joselyn Dumas, Salma Mumin and ‘Yaanom’ such as Akuapem Poloo, Moesha Buduong, Fella Makafui and their kind are likely to ‘steal’ the show at the 2019 VGMA.
