Equality Before the LAW — David Beckham’s Licence Suspended After Being Caught Texting Whilst Driving

In a country where the laws actually work, anyone who breaks them is liable to pay for it, irrespective of their status in society.

It’s a little good to see the axiom ‘equality before the law’ in action, especially when you’re in a country where the rich and powerful are rarely held to account.

Famous international footballer, model, fashion icon and actor, David Beckham, has found himself on the wrong side of the law after he was photographed texting whilst driving.

Beckham was arraigned before court and pleaded guilty to the offence. His licence has been suspended and he’s been banned from driving for the next six months.

The 44-year-old Manchester United legend was photographed by a member of the public in the act of texting whilst driving. The incident occurred in November last year whilst he was driving his Bentley in London.

Aside the driving ban, Beckham was fined £750, ordered to pay £100 in prosecution costs and a £75 surcharge fee within seven days.

Wonder what inquisitive ‘member of the public’ decided to photograph him in such an act and cost Beckham his licence. Probably a Liverpool fan LOL.
