Liverpool FC have qualified for their 2nd successive UEFA Champions League final after an improbable 4-0 comeback win over FC Barcelona.
Liverpool looked down and out after losing 3-0 in the first leg tie in Barcelona, but mustered the willpower to eke out a 4-0 victory Tuesday night and qualify 4-3 on aggregate.
Belgian forward Divock Origi and Dutch midfielder Gini Winaldum both scored twice for Liverpool as they completed yet another crazy European comeback victory.
Lionel Messi and his Barcelona counterparts were completely outplayed, outfought and outrun by a spirited Liverpool side who were missing key players Mohammed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
The victory puts Liverpool in their second successive final, whilst for Barcelona it is another year of crushing disappointment, having been kicked out last year after taking a 4-1 lead whilst squandering a 3-0 lead this year.
The second semi-final comes off Wednesday night between Ajax Amsterdam and Tottenham, with the winner meeting Liverpool in the final on 1st June 2019 in Madrid.
