The national security apparatus has been hit with a massive shakeup after the head of the Bureau of National Investations (BNI) was fired from his role.
Rasheed Seidu Inussah has been relived of his post by the President for presiding over a period of poor security lapses and lack of coordination between the security services and the police service.
Starrfmonline has confirmed the sacking of Inussah and also the elevation of his deputy Dumfeh to the role.
According to the report, the President was unhappy over how the BNI has been conducting its security role in recent times. There have been some embarrassing security lapses and the Bureau has not been on the same page with the Ghana Police Service.
Other problems include poor policing in some communities which has led to a spike in crime.
Inussah’s removal comes barely a year after he took over the job from Akwasi Appiah.
