Actor Opens up On His Days Pimping out Actresses to Sugar Daddies for Cash

The barrenness of the Ghanaian movie industry forces many of those involved in it to search for their own alternative means of surviving.

You don’t have to guess much to realize what most of them choose as an alternative. Some speak openly about having to sell their bodies to make a living and we’ve consequently conned a nice term for them – ashawobrity.

Kumawood actor Stephen Mawunyo, popularly known as Oteele, has spoken openly about engaging in some ‘pimping’ many years ago. Speaking in a chat on ‘Uncut with ZionFelix’, he revealed that he used to match some actresses with his friends who are filthy rich.

According to him, the way the system worked was that a rich friend would spot one of his actress friends and express interest, and he would match them up in return for a fee, serving literally as a pimp.

Many of the desperate actresses involved were all too pleased to be matched to a rich man to make some cool dough.

Oteele said he has since stopped that ‘business’ but there are undoubtedly these kinds of deals being made in the industry all the time to this day.
