Kumawood star turned musician Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin has hit out at the VGMA board for leaving him out of the nominees for the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
According to Lilwin, because he is such a successful actor that the board are reluctant to award him for his music as well.
The comic actor has made a seamless transition to music and has released numerous hit singles, but did not manage to grab nominations for this year’s awards.
Speaking with SVTV Africa, Lilwin said if he lived in another country he would probably receive a nomination and even win awards despite his acting background but in Ghana, they feel reluctant to reward one person in two fields.
Lilwin added that his songs are more popular than most of the songs nominated for the awards but he doesn’t care about being left out because he has the adoration of his fans and that’s all he cares about.
