Supporters of the embattled CEO of Menzgold Ghana, Nana Appiah Mensah, are in an ecstatic mood today after news emerged from Dubai that he is now a free man after winning a court case in the Gulf country.
Nana Appiah Mensah was in court over a gold deal gone bad facing charges of defrauding a business partner.
The Ghanaian businessman had a gold transaction with a Dubai businessman worth millions of dollars go sour. When he went for his payment as a result of the deal, reportedly worth over $23m, he was reported for fraud by the Dubai businessman he was dealing with and consequently arrested.
On Tuesday, the Dubai court hearing the case freed him and ordered the Dubai businessman to pay him all outstanding debts owed him.
Details over the cost of damages Nana Appiah Mensah would receive is sketchy but what is not in dispute is that he has been vindicated in this particular case and perhaps customers of Menzgold can finally begin to hold out some hope over a resolution of the saga surrounding the company.
