‘Most Ghanaian DJ’s Are Destiny Killers’ — Says Kofi Kinaata

Published by

King of Westside rap music, Kofi Kinaata has lamented on how some Ghanaian Disk Jockeys (DJs) have been killing destinies of poor uprising artistes in the nation.

According to him, it’ll be very difficult to see or hear a Ghanaian DJ playing a song from an underground artiste on their shows no matter how good the song is but rather they prefer playing wack and senseless songs from any popular singer.

He added that because of this ‘wickedness’ Ghanaians DJs are, a good song like Bless’ ‘Chochomucho’ went through hard times before becoming a hit and this happened because she had no money to promote the song.

“It was difficult for a song like Chochomucho by Bless to become a hit just because he didn’t have the money to push it but other songs I don’t even regard as songs are doing so well.

“The DJs will not play a song, especially from an up-and-coming artiste, but would prefer to play a bad song from a popular artiste which is not cool”, he lamented.
