Ever since Shatta Wale’s ill-fated and widely mocked freestyle, Ghanaian artists who get on Tim Westwood have been making the country proud with their performances.
Medikal did pretty well with his freestyle and last week, video of M.anifest’s performance also went viral as he killed it during his appearance on Tim Westwood.
M.anifest’s performance was all people were talking about but he also granted an interview in which he touched on numerous topics, most especially on his legendary beef with Sarkodie in 2016, which was the most intense beef the music industry had seen in ages.

Despite the war they waged against each other at the time and an assumption that they don’t respect each other’s craft, M.anifest actually admitted that he saw Sark as the top dog in the industry at the time and thus loved the opportunity to take him on since the only way to become king is to beat the king.
“I think it was a moment in time… just competitive rivalry…a Hip Hop thing. If you have to be the man, you have to beat the man. Big up to him… He is been doing it for a while and there has always been mutual respect between us,” M.anifest said.
“We always kept it respectful because of its Hip Hop and everyone feels they are the best. So if you think so then put it on wax and let’s see how far. We did it and it turned the country upside down for a couple of days!”
M.anifest said he put his best effort into that beef, as did Sarkodie, and the winner is left up to Ghanaians to decide.
“Everything I do I take serious so I’m not going to go into a competitive world, I’m not going to put out a track that is going to be easily beat. He came back with record. We both came out with a track each and left the people to decide.”
M.anifest said that ‘beef’ is now far behind them and Ghanaians should expect collaborations now between the two of them going into the future.
