The controversies engulfing the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards nominees launch continue to gain more traction with each passing day, as artists who believe they have been cheated by the board come out to air their grievances.
The latest to complain about the nominations released is veteran rapper Tic, formerly known as Tic Tac.
Tic has revealed that he believes he has been cheated in the number of nominations he garnered.
Speaking with Sky Fm in Sunyani, he said that he believes he should have received more nominations, especially for the biggest award on the night which is the artist of the year award.
“I should have been nominated for Artiste of the Year, Highlife song of the Year and Hiplife song of the Year and of course maybe best collaboration of the Year,” he said.
“Because if you are nominated for most popular song of the Year and the song is a Hiplife song or a Highlife song and it couldn’t make it in its own category then it baffles me as an artiste but it’s VGMAs.”
Tic had two monster hits during the year, ‘Pene ma Me’ with Kidi and ‘Kwani Kwani Part II’ with Kuami Eugene.
