A former manager of Nigerian singer Iyanya, Ubi Franklin, has been locked in a public battle with the artist with the two throwing shade at each other.

This nasty feud has afforded us the opportunity to learn more about Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson’s abortive relationship with Iyanya, which led to the actress swearing off dating any more Nigerians.

Ubi Franklin, in a chat with journalist Joey Akan, was asked about Iyanya’s past relationship with Yvonne Nelson and about rumours that the singer used to assault the Ghanaian actress.

Whilst refusing to directly confirm the rumours, his demeanour when the question was asked and his refusal to deny has led to interpretations that Iyanya did use to assault Yvonne.

Asked if the singer physically assaulted Nelson, Franklin replied whilst laughing: “It’s not my mouth you’d hear that thing from. I promised not to say anything or put Iyanya out.”

Iyanya recently said that he left his former boss because he was filled with too much darkness.
