The Quality of Gospel Music is in the ‘Toilet’ Because Current crop of Singers Are Serial Fornicators — Anita Afriyie

There has been a noticeable drop in the quality of gospel music in Ghana these days, there can be no doubt about that.

There was a time when gospel was as big a genre as hiplife and some of the biggest names in Ghanaian music were gospel artists.

However, gospel is mostly an afterthought when talking about the vibrant genres these days and gospel singer Anita Afriyie claims she knows why that has occurred.

Speaking with Kumasi based Fox Fm, she said most gospel singers of today are fornicators, and since fornication is a sin God has withdrawn his anointing from them, affecting the quality of gospel songs.

“The anointing which was making them do good music has gone. They have now turned the anointing to fornication and fornication we know is not acceptable in Gospel music,” she said.

“One thing I have noticed is that is that when you are doing God’s work while you engage yourself in such act it shall never prosper unless maybe you go for juju”, she added.
